Gunter & Gunter,E.A. is a family owned and operated business. We are located in Newburyport, MA, just north of Boston. We have been preparing tax returns for clients since 1988. All of our staff have Accounting degrees and bring to our company a vast knowledge in the areas of both taxation and accounting principles. We are all either Certified Public Accountants or Enrolled Agents which allow us to practice before the IRS. We are extremely knowledgeable of how the tax laws affect you. We are members of The National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Greg Gunter, EA. MST Greg received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham-Southern College where he majored in Accounting. He has over 17 years experience in public accounting, where he has specialized in taxation. Greg earned his Masters degree in Taxation at Northeastern University.

Craig Gunter, EA. MST Craig joined our firm in 1989 after leaving his job in public accounting. Craig also received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham-Southern College where he double majored in Accounting and Business Administration. Craig’s years of experience in public accounting and taxation are invaluable to us. Craig earned his Masters degree in Taxation at Northeastern University in 2007.

Marjorie Gunter, CPA received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Samford University where she majored in Accounting. She began her career in public accounting in 1971 when she was the first woman hired as an accountant at the Birmingham office of the “Big 8” accounting firm of Arthur Young & Company. After receiving her licenses as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Marjorie entered the field of education as a Professor of Accounting. After 25 years of teaching accounting she retired in 1998 from Birmingham-Southern College. Prior to her retirement Marjorie assisted at Gunter & Gunter on a part time basis. She has since joined us full time during tax season.
